So I have turned quarter century old. Last two years haven't been easy at all :| I am restless, every now and then, trying to find out so many things. I hope that coming year brings some clarity and I embrace everything that comes my way with courage.

And Yes, Love is all I need in every aspect of life, hope I can give love and receive love and eventually learn to be still from inside. I am READYYYYY!! yehaawww :)

The dots of feelings - sometimes feeling joyous, pensive, agitated, disappointed, happy, restless, calm,strange, motivated, inspired and sometimes gloomy for no reason at all. Sometimes, I know the reasons of my feelings, sometimes there is no reason at all to feel any emotion, or I can't recognize the reason. The dots of feelings keep traveling finding their own direction.

For my dogie Zabie :)

This is for my doggie Zabbie.

We love you Zabie and miss you. Its strange how we develop such deep attachment between beings. I wonder in which world has she gone now. I hope your new world is wonderful.

We made a separate cozy bed for her in our room. When the lights went off and we were fast asleep Zabie would quietly slip in between my brother and me, waking us up by licking our nose :)

This is for you Zabie, for the joy that you brought in our lives. For loving us so much even when we left you alone in the house, you did not sulk with us(unlike humans) you greeted us with frenzy almost saying, "yeyy now you are back, but don't leave me again" but still we did and you still showed us more and more love. We send you lots of love Zabie :)

Kumaon

Recently I went to Kumaon, the most beautiful place I have been to till now.
One could see green everywhere. Everything becomes slow to experience surroundings with all your senses.

While I was there, I painted some of my thoughts that were in mind from quite some time.

 

Some children joined me to paint in my journal. 

 

We live in circles. each new circle is a new beginning to learning. In the process, our circle meets many other circles representing other beings, situations, experiences. Each progressive circle becomes more challenging and tougher. Sometimes we enjoy, sometimes we feel discouraged. It is a mix and match of all kinds of feelings. 

Every circle seems like a Mari-go-around. Once I start getting comfortable and enjoying a circle, I enter into a new circle again and then starts Mari-go-around again. And it all keeps going in circles while our circles of learnings keep becoming bigger.

Some pleasures in life :)

Illustration Friday: Lonely

Loneliness can be pleasant sometimes, can be scary the other times. Scary is a strong word to use. I feel lonely when there is disconnect with the inner self, when harmony inside disrupts, when I feel disconnect with my art, when I believe in something but two voices inside me fight for and against it. When images don't travel along with me, that is when I feel lonely. But these are phases that come and go, images have started traveling with me again :) I am thankful to them :)

Sneak peek of a pop-up book :)

I have been working on pop-up for children. The story is about an elephant who takes children for rides on her back. One day she cries and cries and feels that she is not beautiful.She takes help from her friends to change her appearance. When children see her in her new appearance, they tell her that she is beautiful the way she is. One is liked and accepted the way one naturally is. One need not change outer appearance to be liked by others.

It is a story book done for Aparna and Saumya who are working towards social emotional development of children. These are some of the images from the book. I will upload some more images soon. I hope you enjoy looking at them :)

Illustration Friday : Round

Round, round round Pots!! Now that I have become a textile artist,

I want to be a potter now :) I always wanted to learn pottery, put

my hands in mud and create beautiful pots on potter's wheel.

I loved the feeling on my fingers of the moving pot on the wheel.

But but but, the pot just turns out of any shape on potter's wheel but round. That also looks interesting, but some day I will be able to create round pots too :)

Illustration Friday: Mesmerizing

I remember, while going back from college to home,
I would take with me either Opi, Urmi, Al (my friends)
on my bicycle. On the way, every single person would look
at us. Women walking on the pavement would be 'mesmerized',
and men found it 'amusing'. Men on bikes would turn back
again and again to see ' a girl carrying another girl on her cycle',
some would whistle, and some fixed the rear view image of
their motorbikes to witness this 'unusual sight' in that area.
And we would just enjoy and laugh the whole way seeing
people's expressions.

Gloom can be dealt with and enjoyed :)

I feel, ideas are becoming static now, what do
I do to stir my imagination? May be go out and sketch
whatt I see, and give a break to images that exist only in
my mind.

This is what I have been doing meanwhile.
I love fabric, threads as much as I love painting.
But I talk more of textiles than actually creating them.
So now, I have started creating some art clothes, which I
will share here very soon.

The silent energy, which exists within us, around us,brought me to something so beautiful yesterday, beauty in the form of a being,so beautiful that I want to embrace it. I see beauty of this being in
glimpses. In Silence. In Smiles. My energy ha been low from last few days it just made me calm down. And then...

I look up at the sky filled with stars, under my breath, I make a secret wish.Though I have many wishes, but this one is something I really want to come true :)

First karadi tale:) I am almost there!

These are some of the illustrations I have been working on for Karadi tales.

It has been a long journey, of ups and downs and great learning. All the illustrations

for the book are done, just a little finishing touch is required here and there. Now I

am impatient to see the book in my hand :)

Stay :)

I like observing hands. People express so much through their hands.

Sometimes, even a slight touch gives a sparkling affectionate feeling.Sometimes, one would be talking furiously, and then your friend would hold your hand and say 'its ok", and the energy of the conversation changes, with one touch, and then one smiles.

When you try to hold tiny tinyyy hand of a new born baby, or try to open the baby's fist, he/she holds onto your finger so tight, almost saying 'caught you!' or do they say 'I won't let you go. Stay'.

I also don't want to let go some things/people from my life. I want to tell them - 'STAY'. Will they stay? I wish they stay.

I want to go for dancing. Debu says he wants to go for dancing. Lets make it happen and not wait.

A builder :)

Someone in my workspace told Debu (my friend) - "Oh Sadhvi looks like a chair (meaning- I am from furniture design department, I imagined myself being a chair, we laughed) who would be carrying a pouch with tools like spanner, screw driver and doing tuck tuck tuck (sound effect). When Debu told me about this, the only image came to my mind was Bob the builder :D So here another wish gets added to my 'wish list' Be bob the builder (Sadhvi the builder :), What fun it would be to wear the yellow pants with huge pockets that have neverending tools, and fix anything and everything, even the screwed heads :P (or screw the heads)
